Prepare for Your 2024 Open Enrollment Period

  1. Evaluate your current plan
Get a head start by confirming your employer's open enrollment period, marking your calendar and setting up reminders. Think about how well your current plan works for you. Look at its costs, convenience and coverage.
  2. Pick a plan
Just log in to your benefits enrollment site to find all Aetna plans and programs available to you. Set aside time to review your options and compare them side by side.
  3. Enroll in the Aetna plan right for you
Your new coverage starts on January 1, 2024. You'll automatically be disenrolled from your old plan when your new coverage begins.

Enrollment Overview

Where should I start? Choosing the right plan can be daunting. Watch this video to understand how to start the process.

Select the Right Provider Network

Where do you live?

We offer two great provider networks to choose from — Performance and Premier. Performance covers a wider geographic area and is a great choice if you live or work in North County. It also includes the Rady Children’s Health Network. Premier is ideal for those who live or work in central San Diego.

Who is your doctor?

Be sure to choose the network that includes your doctor. If you’re also looking for health insurance to cover your spouse and/or dependents, their doctors will be need to be in the same network too. If you don’t already have a doctor, we can help you find one for you and your family.

Choose the Right Plan

Premiums vs Copay

If you prefer to have a lower copay and a higher premium, look for a benefits-rich plan like the Platinum or Gold plans. If you prefer a lower monthly premium and higher copays, check out our Silver or Bronze plans.

How often do you visit the doctor?

If you don’t visit the doctor regularly, you may want to consider one of our high-deductible plans. If you see a doctor or specialist more often, a plan with either a low deductible or no deductible might be right for you.

COVID-19 Protections

COVID-19 is a dangerous virus that everyone ought to be able to protect themselves and their family from. Understanding how your insurance helps protect you and your family from this disease is important.
